Water & Sanitation
In too many communities in rural Kenya, families walk miles to collect water--often from contaminated sources that spread disease. At P4P, we're changing that by building water tanks, wells, and handwashing stations, bringing safe, reliable water closer to home.

Rainwater Catchment Tanks
Part of P4P's commitment to improving the health of those in rural villages involves the installation of water catchment tanks, drilling of wells, and delivery of handwashing stations at schools, churches, and orphanages throughout the Kopanga region. Villagers participate by ensuring that a concrete foundation and rain gutter is installed before installation of water tanks.

Latrines
Hand-dug latrines provide a safe and sanitary way to manage waste, preventing the spread of diseases such as cholera and typhoid. Without proper sanitation, open defecation can contaminate water sources, leading to serious health risks for the community. improved sanitation promotes overall community well-being, supports environmental cleanliness, and enhances productivity by reducing illness-related absences from work and school.
Handwashing Stations
Hand washing stations are crucial in rural villages as they help prevent the spread of infectious diseases by promoting proper hygiene. Access to clean water and soap reduces the risk of illnesses in areas with limited healthcare. These stations are especially important in schools and public spaces, ensuring that children and community members develop healthy hygiene habits.
